Legal Help For Your Child Support Issues
Both parents are obligated to financially support their child(ren). At Sterba & Swope, LLP, we will make sure that you receive, or pay, the right amount of money for your child(ren)’s well being.
How Does The State Determine Child Support?
Child support calculations are determined with consideration to the following factors: each parent’s gross income, whether a parent pays a premium to cover children on health insurance, day care expenses, child support from another marriage/relationship, whether either parent has subsequent children and the parenting time exercised by the non-custodial parent.
In almost all situations, child support must be paid by the means of a Wage Withholding Order that automatically deducts the child support from the parent’s wages by their employer and forwards same to the Clerk of the Court. The Clerk then issues and forwards that check to the receiving parent or deposits same by direct deposit.
